Hey Amazing Moms!
As you already know by now, STEM/STEAM is where it’s at! But if you’re like me, the idea of incorporating STEM into your daily schedule can seem overwhelming especially if you do not have a science, technology, engineering or math back ground. There are mailable STEM kits that you could subscribe too but the monthly price tag may not be something you’re looking to add to your budget. I say, forget the thought of subscribing to those expensive monthly STEM kits…make your own!
With the help of Pinterest, I created my own DIY homeschool STEM kit and I wanted to share it with you in hopes that you will be inspired to do the same (and because sharing is caring and I care about you *wink*). You can go to my Pinterest STEM/STEAM board which is filled with a variety of awesome STEM projects, free resources and ideas to help get your kids into exploring the world of STEM.
I used common items that can be found around the home and I downloaded this free printable available on STEM Activities for Kids. Below is a video that goes through the items that I included in my DIY STEM kit so you can see exactly what we use to create our STEM challenges. :
I hope this video inspired you to go ahead and jump into the STEM fields with your little learners! Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram @halfmom_halfamazing and share your cool STEM projects with me. I would love to see the creative ideas that you and your kids come up with!
From one amazing mother to another,
