Hey Amazing Moms!
If you have a broken mirror or old picture frame that is no longer your style and you are trying to figure out what to do with it…I have a solution for you. Make it into a chalkboard and pimp it out with a beautiful, meaningful quote! Heres how:
Framed item of your choice
Chalkboard Spray Paint
Permanent Chalk Marker
A print out of your favorite quote
*Singing* “Isn’t She Lovely?” This pretty girl wasn’t always so gorgeous! And although she’s not perfect yet , I’m still in LOVE! Being that this is my first time going this, I’m pleased with how it turned out. A little touch up paint over the mistakes (whenever I find the time) and she will be PERFECT!
Remove the glass from your mirror or picture frame. If the glass is still in tact, go ahead and spray paint it with chalk board spray paint. Two to three coats will suffice. If your glass is broken, carefully remove it and spray paint the backing. If the backing is damaged, cut a piece of sturdy cardboard or foam board to the size of the frame.
Allow each coat of spray paint to dry before applying the next. After your paint has dried, take your printed text and scribble over the back of it with chalk. Make sure to carefully cover the entire surface. Flip the printed text over and
carefully trace over the front of the text. Make sure to apply firm pressure when tracing so that the chalk on the back of the printed text will transfer onto your chalkboard surface. After you have traced over the text, remove the paper. The chalk behind the text should neatly transfer over onto the chalkboard surface. Trace over the chalkboard transferred text with the permanent chalk marker. Viola! All done!
